The synthwave band The Forgotten has released the third single "Break Away" from the upcoming EP Chapter II: Into New Realities. Conceptually, the album is many stories told in a ‘multiverse’ and the previously release singles included "Axs" (a collaboration with Boovox)" and "Transcend" (a collaboration with Forero).
This is the first time I've really dug into The Forgotten's discography and I really like what I've heard so far. According to FiXT, "they have dropped a plethora of well-received synthwave remixes, collaborations, and singles and are back to welcome listeners into the cosmic journey." Among the tracks I came across from The Forgotten was a rad cover of the Stranger Things theme, released earlier this year. I'm a huge fan of the show and the synthwave music incorporated into the score. I could listen to the theme on continuous loop and when I heard The Forgotten's "Cyberpunk Version", I thought it added a whole new element of synth (if that is even possible.)The lyrics are really powerful as well:
Let me break away
Let mе sail away
Outrun the time
And be ablе to forget your name
I want to escape today
I want to leave this place
All I want
Is to be able to forget your name
"Break Away" is out now from independent multi-genre music label FiXT. Listen to the single below or use the link to connect in your favorite music streaming app.
